The Almarin indoor swimming pool in Mönchsdeggingen was decommissioned due to a lack of usage options and the need for extensive renovation. In this bachelor’s thesis, a concept was developed to repurpose the existing building, with the decision made to transform it into a spa and hotel complex.
The project includes an expansion of the existing structure, designed in harmony with the current architecture and the local topography. Sustainable construction methods were integrated to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
As part of this work, the task was to design an ecological extension using timber construction and to renovate the existing building. The hotel is based on a timber frame construction, which is characterized by its sustainable and resource-efficient design.
